Mining Sustainably

At Tacora, we are committed to responsible mining practices and environmental stewardship, ensuring our operations consistently meet or exceed the expectations and regulations of our stakeholders. While iron ore extraction and processing provide vital materials for modern society, we recognize the environmental impacts of our operations. Tacora is dedicated to reducing hydrocarbon consumption, minimizing carbon emissions, conserving water, improving air quality, and reducing waste generation.

Environmental Permitting and Compliance

We recognize that our demonstrated commitment to responsible and sustainable mining is a critical factor in maintaining credibility among our stakeholders and in supporting our ongoing license to operate. Permitting, approvals and compliance management are crucial for the effective regulation of mining-related activities to prevent possible negative impacts on the natural environment, as well as the interests and rights of local communities. Our mine operates under valid environmental approvals and licenses and routinely submits applications for new permits, when required, as well as submitting compliance reports for existing permits to demonstrate conformity with current legal and other obligations. Reporting is an important part of this compliance.
