Post-Secondary & Summer Student Employment

Tacora is dedicated to supporting the growth and development of our employees in various apprentice trades by offering subsidized paid leave for block training. We work closely with stakeholders to address skilled trade shortages, implement training and apprenticeship programs, and promote the advancement of women in mining trades.

Tacora also provides dynamic, engaging, and challenging opportunities for students to expand their knowledge and skills alongside experienced employees from diverse backgrounds. Co-op and work placements for college and university students in various programs, who join Tacora, take on a range of responsibilities, including following safe work practices, data analysis, administrative support, and assisting in project planning, performance monitoring, surveying, and reporting. Our long-term approach to hiring co-op students addresses current staffing needs, succession planning, and future talent requirements.

Additionally, Tacora welcomes summer students to gain valuable work experience while ensuring our operations remain productive during employee annual leave. Summer students are hired and trained to perform the same duties as unionized workers, gaining hands-on experience across all areas of operations in alignment with their fields of study.
